The Pocket of Comfort Invocation

An invocation is a declaration of healing intention. You might call it a meditation, a prayer, a blessing, or a spell. The name doesn’t matter. It’s the intention that counts. This invocation is only two minutes long, but it packs a whole lot of meaning and insights into that very short time. Think of this as an audio cookie (from the ) for your soul, and in less than two minutes you are going to feel more connected to your inner wise woman, and that makes everything better. Imagine a safe haven of self-kindness and self-care for moms, a place where all our motherhood struggles are met with understanding, sisterhood, and hugs.  Where we can safely spill our guts, ask questions, ask for ideas and commiseration, while knowing that we will not be judged, and not be given unsolicited advice.  Where mamas from all over the world come together to vent, stomp, laugh, cheer, high-five, and more than anything: share deeply, and support each other in a completely safe and private space.  And we don’t have to get dressed or schlep a diaper bag or car seat anywhere. We can do it all in our PJ, from the convenience of our Facebook streams.  : a pool of resources, a bank of ideas, an ever filling reservoir of eyes and ears and shoulders and hugs. The monthly Mother’s Support Group in Ithaca, NY:

Struggling while mothering? You are not alone.  If you feel overwhelmed by motherhood, or get that “I’m a bad mom” feeling, please join us in this safe space for sharing, sisterhood, and learning new coping skills for handling guilt, worry, anxiety, sleep deprivation, postpartum blues, or postpartum depression. These meeting are free and open to all mothersno matter how old the kids are.  Whether you have been diagnosed with a condition or just having a hard time, breaking the isolation and getting social support can bring much comfort.  If you are shy: please note that no one is ever required to talk. You are welcome to come and just listen.  Babies and toddlers welcome.  Feel free to bring your lunch with you.  Try RSVP via email to ppdtojoy (at) gmail (dot) com, but feel free to join us even if you didn’t RSVP.
