Yummy Toes

After I finished writing a hard post about the hell of not bonding with baby.  Then I felt a strong need to come up with something light.
I poked around some of my friends’ blogs and was inspired by Kimberly’s foot fetish post . Just what I needed.

Seven years ago I started singing this song to my older child
Now we sing it together with the 2yo.

To the tune of  if you’re happy and you know it.

Sing with me:

Yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy toes
(kiss, kiss)
Yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy toes
(kiss, kiss)

Yes, you got a lovely tummy
and a beautiful nose

But your mama likes to nibble on your toes
Your yummy toes
(kiss, kiss, hug, hug)

Do you have a family ditty? Do share.

Oh, songs for colicky nights are secret potions of love in hard times. And the Wonderwall part gave me chills and good tears. Much love to you, dear friend.

    Hi Yael,

I’m not a mom, but I thought I’d chime in.

When my little brother was a baby, he would lose his balance and fall a lot. Instead of looking worried or scared, which would make him decide he should cry even if he wasn’t hurt, my mom would sing:

Oh, the baby falls down and goes boom boom!
Oh the baby falls down and goes boom boom!

She clapped her hands on the words “Boom boom” and Max would join right in.

She would also sing (to the tune of “Toot toot” a Zydaco song):

Oh, Diana (or Maxwell) is my good girl (or boy), good girl
Oh Diana is my good girl, good girl.
You can have the other babies
But Diana is my good girl, good girl.

    :)

Oh I love this. I used to sing to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle…

    “Twinkle twinkle little star,
Chase wants a brand new car.
A Black Hotwheels car is his ride,
with all his homies chillin inside.
    Twinkle twinkle little star
Chase wants a brand new car.”

We always used to joke that my Dad (his Papa) was going to buy him a motorized car. On Father’s Day, we had a picture of my son’s head on an ad for a Black Escalade. It’s a running joke within our family. And it’s the one song I used to sing to him during those very long colicky nights.
I also used to sing “Wonderwall” to him…especially the lines “Cause maybe, you’re going to be the one that saves me. And after all, you’re my wonderwall”
