The Good Mom Anthem

Today I’m visiting Cristi at Motherhood Unadorned.
Motherhood Unadorned. I love the sound of that.

The pain in my neck and shoulders requires me to express my ideas with a minimum amount of typing, so the post is short and sweet.

It’s called The Good Mom Anthem
Go sing it. Help us make music for it?

Crisit is lovely and amazing, and she is so committed to suicide prevention, that she is fundraising for it by putting her hair on the line!
If she gets $1500 by Friday, She will be coloring her hair blue! And so will I! (I’ll be redoing the streaks I already have, but on the same day that Cristi will be blu-ing for the first time). Robin, and a bunch of other friends signed up to streak some blue on their heads too. It’s a streaking party! This friday! Tomorrow!!!

Take a look over at Cristi’s fundraising page, and if you bid, donate, or decide to join the blue hair posse, because you always wandered what that would look like, let me know so I can celebrate with you.

September 10th is World Suicide Prevention Day!

Are you on The Twitter? I am @yael Saar she is @MotherUnadorned. This week we’re trying to get this tweet trending for suicide prevention awareness. Yes, it’s a little “slactivism”… so easy, anyone can do it. But you never know who might see it at the exact moment they need to. The universe works in mysterious ways sometimes. Please tweet this as much as you can from now through September 10th and beyond. You just might save a life.

I am talking to YOU. #youarebeautiful #youareloved #youarenotalone #StopSuicide please RT

Why don’t you go ahead and tweet this? And then go read the anthem. Cause you are a good mom too.
Don’t forget to tell Cristi I said hi.

And if you came here from Cristi’s place, why, welcome! I’m so glad to meet you.
If this is your first time here, you might find this useful.
Make yourself at home, tell me about yourself, I’m all ears.
Much love.

I just read the piece on your support group in the Ithaca Times and
wanted to commend you on your efforts. While saving lives is of course
of paramount importance, a service such as this will also save marriages
and as a result improve the lives of children.

I lost a marriage to post-partum psychosis. As noted in the article, many
woman are resistant to seeking help, partly due to the fact of the condition itself.

I wish an organization like yours had been around 10 years ago.
