Are you new here? The Hope in an Envelope collection started in this post:  The idea is to write yourself a letter on a good day, so you can read it on your bad days — you get to tap into your own wisdom to help yourself.
And yes! I’d love to add your letter to our growing collection here. And if you have a blog and would like to post your letter at your place, that’s great, we can both share your writing! That way even more moms will be touched by your words. J ust please make sure to let me know via twitter or email  (@yaelsaar /  ppdtojoy at gmail dot com) and please don’t forget to link to , so mothers who read your letter can then find the rest of the collection, and perhaps be inspired to participate.

Passing the mic to Becky:

My dearest Becky –

Stop for a moment and think about where you were 2 years ago. A time that was supposed to be full of amazing adventures with your new little miracle. It was over-shadowed by a dark cloud that you just couldn’t shake. Think about how you’ve grown since then. Your sun is starting to peek through and the clouds are lifting.

You’ve shed countless tears. You’ve screamed. You’ve felt like giving up. I understand. You’ve tried to wish it never happened, but it did. You know what, mama? You made it through shining brighter than you imagined. You have tough days. It’s okay. It’s important to recognize them, understand WHY you still have them, and look at what you have to show for it now. Your wings are beautiful, and strong.

Have you stopped today, and looked at your amazing son sitting on the floor playing with his trucks? He’s that way because of you. He loves you so very much. He runs to YOU when he’s hurt or scared. Sometimes YOU are the only one that will soothe his cries. Your arms are comforting and full of love. He needs your direction, your love, and your strength. Being a mom is so hard, but so rewarding and such a gift. Never forget that.

If you’re having a tough day, be kind to yourself. Listen to your heart, and not the intrusive thoughts flying through your head. BREATHE. Get outside. Dance and sing at the top of your lungs to silly music with your son. Work on a puzzle. Talk to the husband. Find a friend to hang out with. WRITE even if it makes no sense, and gets deleted. Get it out of your head.

Every day is an opportunity for you to be awesome, and mama you ARE awesome. You got this. Your family loves you.

Remember today ♥
